Sister Organization - Root Impact
In 2012, Kyungsun Chung, grandson of Hyundai Group’s founder, founded Root Impact to support Changemakers in South Korea and also founded Communitas America in 2017 through a fiscal sponsorship with the Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. Root Impact encourages Changemakers and/or social entrepreneurs to create positive social change. Root Impact envisions the world where everyone can make a real change. In order to empower Changemakers and social entrepreneurs who endeavor to bring positive and innovative changes to the social entrepreneurs’ community, Root Impact has been building an ‘Impact Ecosystem’ to address pressing issues and sustain growth. In doing so, Root Impact is providing a Changemaker-friendly environment such as a co-living community (D-well), co-working community (Heyground) as well as learning opportunities (Impact Career Series).
Root Impact defines the meaning of Changemaker as a group of people who are interested in solving
social issues with diverse tools. Being a Changemaker should not be too complicated. Everyone can drive positive changes whether they are social entrepreneurs, pro-bono service providers or value-driven consumers. They all contribute to positive social changes building upon their own insights and assets. If you like to know about what type of changemaker you are, please take the Changemaker Game test created by Root Impact team. http://www.rootimpact.org/en/test.php
